MADISON EATS | DANE COUNTY FARMERS' MARKET

6/22/2015

Last Saturday, Oliver and I made the 143 mile drive to Madison, WI to spend the day visiting our favorite spots and to celebrate our 7th year of being together as a couple.

The Farmers' Market on the Capitol Square was one of the top things I wanted to do and I am so happy we did. The Dane County Farmers' Market is the largest producer-only farmers' market in the United States and many of the local restaurants in downtown Madison purchase their supplies of fresh produce and meat from the market itself. You will commonly find that the menus at places such as Graze and The Merchant are ever-changing as a result of what the market has to offer and what ingredients are in-season.

I will probably shoot and write a post on my favorite items to purchase at the market in the near future, mostly to encourage people to visit who have never been before. The farmers' market on the square is truly one of the many gems of Madison, WI and a must-see for visiting foodies!

  2. Love the pictures. Makes me hungry! I like the picture of the capital reflecting in the mirrored building. Very cool. Now that you don't live there, not sure if we will get to the Farmers Market this year. Might have to plan a run just for that. Its a summer must do!
